I was introduced to Akram through a colleague of his from Ethiopia that I know personally. Prior to booking my trip, Akram and I had a phone conversation on WhattsApp to get to know each other. We have very similar backgrounds (I was born in Djibouti and grew up in Ethiopia), and we hit it off! Akram and I spent an UNFORGETTABLE time over 11 days exploring Djibouti as well as Dire Dawa & Harrar (in Ethiopia). He is fully conversant in 7 languages, and he is amazingly knowlegeable about a wide range of topics: history, geology, culture, politics, etc, and most importantly, he is A TON OF FUN to hang out with. Listening to local music, laughing, learning, and exploring. Best time I've had in a long time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Akram for your Djibouti adventures.
We spent three days with Akram driving around Djibouti, and saw some of the main attractions, including Djibouti City, the lakes, rift valley, volcanic landscapes and Tadjourah. We even got a glimpse of a whale shark! Akram was an amazing and very hospitable host, telling us a lot of interesting things about the country and its culture and history. I can wholeheartedly recommend him as a guide and I look forward to coming back and doing more tours with him!
Akram took my family and I to Lac Assal, the Foret du Day, and to lunch in Tadjourah. He was an expert guide. We appreciated how knowledgeable he was about Djiboutian terrain, culture, and history. He provided interesting context for all that we encountered. In addition, he is a very pleasant individual. We enjoyed the conversation with him as we drove. We had a range of ages in our family group and Akram expertly adjusted the schedule to accommodate our pace. We highly recommend Djibouti Adventure and Akram for traveling in Djibouti!!

I spent three days in Djibouti in November. With Akram from Djibouti Adventure, we visited Lake Assal and went to see whale sharks, among other attractions. Akram took care of all the arrangements according to my wishes, perfectly and on schedule. He was knowledgeable and pleasant. I can warmly recommend Djibouti Adventure.

I highly recommend Djibouti Adventure for an excursion in Djibouti. I only had a short time free and wanted to see Lake Assal but also learn more about life in Djibouti. Akram was super responsive and the perfect guide -- he was both a highly professional tour guide and also read me well, which matters when you're spending a lot of time together. A really excellent trip!
Went to Djibouti for tourism, it is a very underrated tourist destination with extremely friendly people. Djibouti Adventure was very communicative and helpful throughout the process. Tour guide, Akram, was on time and a pleasure to be around. His knowledge of the sights is excellent. His knowledge of geography and the history of Djibouti and the world is impressive. The prices were also competitive. I highly recommend a tour with Akram if you are heading to Djibouti

I recently had the pleasure of leading a tour to Lake Abbe and Lake Assale, Somaliland Las Geel and Hargeisa City Tours, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Djibouti Adventure for organizing such an incredible experience. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction made our trip truly unforgettable. I highly recommend Djibouti Adventure to anyone looking to explore the stunning landscapes of Djibouti. Thank you for a fantastic journey!
Amazing adventure in a very unique setting. We drove to Lake Abbe, a beautiful and almost otherworldy place. Here I spent the night under the stars amongst the local herders (as only tourist). After this we drove back and visited Lake Assal and some other sites. Akram is an outstanding guide and the service was good. Highly recommended!
We spent 5 days in Djibouti in May 2025. Although it was extremely hot, it was also rewarding as we were virtually no other tourists, which made the experience truly unique. The tour was fascinating. Lake Abbe is otherwordly and Lasse Assal is unique, plus we got to see the Rift Canyon and the Volcano Region, as well as Tadjoura and Djibouti City. Our guide Akram was the best! Funny, kind, knowlegeable. We will not forget his hospitality and is Somali Tea.

My visit to Lac Assal, and Ditilou village was extraordinary! The crystal-clear salty waters of Lac Assal, and the soothing greenery of Ditilou were absolutely magical. The organization was flawless, with a passionate guide and impeccable logistics. Thank you, Djibouti Adventure, for this memorable experience. I highly recommend it!

"Lac Abbe is a truly surreal destination! The landscape feels like something from another planet, with its striking limestone chimneys and the vast, ethereal salt flats. Our guide, Akram, made the experience even more memorable with his deep knowledge of the area and his engaging storytelling. The entire trip was smooth, and Lac Abbe's beauty left us in awe. Highly recommend visiting this unique place!
