Djibouti-Lac Assal- Tadjoura/Sable blanc

Lake Assal is a crater lake located in the Danakil Desert in central Djibouti,
surrounded by dormant volcanoes and black lava fields that contrast with its
emerald waters. At more than 153 meters below sea level, it holds the distinction of being the lowest point in Africa. 

Sable blanc translates to “white sand” in French and it is 10 k/m North of Tadjoura . In the context of Tadjoura, it likely refers to the beautiful white sandy beaches that are found in the area.

Day 1 : Djibouti - Lac Assal - Tadjoura

Djibouti Adventure representatives will pick you up from your hotel in Djibouti City at 8:00 AM. The tour begins at 8:00 AM. During the journey to Lake Assal, you will visit:

  • The viewpoint of Canyon Dimbia, part of the Rift Valley
  • The panoramic view of Goubet, known as “Devil Island”
  • Lake Assal, the lowest point in Africa
  • Ardoukoba, the site of the last volcano eruption in Djibouti

From Lac Assal to Tadjoura, we drive and stay overnight at a hotel called “Le Golfe”

Day 2 : Tadjoura - Sable Blanc - Djibouti City

Early in the morning, from Tadjorah, we visit “Sable Blancs”. Sable blanc translates to “white sand” in French  and it is 10 k/m North of Tadjoura.

These white sand beaches are definitely a highlight, offering a perfect place to relax,to swim in a crystal water and view the corals and more than 200 colorful fishes.

The trip end to coming back to Djibouti city.
