Lac Abbé is a remarkable salt lake located on the border between Djibouti and Ethiopia. Lac Abbé is a destination like no other a surreal masterpiece of nature waiting to be explored.

Djibouti-Lac Abbe-Lac Assal-Ditilou Village

Dittilou Village is a small settlement located in the mountainous region of Djibouti, nestled within the lush Goda Mountains, a 600-meter-high green mountain range.

Goda Mountain is a prominent peak located in Djibouti, situated in the northern part of the country near the town of Goda. It is one of the notable mountains in Djibouti’s rugged landscape and offers several attractions.

Day 1 : Djibouti - Lac Abbe

The tour starts at 8:30 AM, departing for Lac Abbé as the final destination for the day. The journey passes through the Grand Bara and Petit Barra deserts. Upon arrival in Dikhil city, there will be a lunch stop before continuing to Lac Abbé. Arrive before sunset to visit the chimneys and witness the beautiful sunset over Lac Abbé. You will spend the night at a tourist camp, consisting of basic traditional Afar huts.

Day 2 ; Lac Abbe - Lac Assal - Ditilou

Early in the morning, we will drive to the lake to observe the flamingos and await the sunrise over the chimneys. We’ll then visit the hot springs and explore other parts of the chimneys before returning to the tourist camp for breakfast.

Following this, our journey continues with a return drive to Lake Assal, the lowest point in Africa. We will visit Canyon Dimbiya, a notable feature of the Rift Valley, and enjoy panoramic views of Goubet, also known as “Devil Island”. Additionally, we will explore Ardoukoba, the site of a volcanic eruption. 

From Lac Assal, we will drive to Ditilou village, you will discover a charming campsite featuring walls made of dry stone and a friendly group of Vervet monkeys (with their distinctive blue testicles). we will spend the night at the Ditilou Campement site.

Day 3 : Ditilou - Djibouti City

Early in the morning, the local guide will take us through the forest, where you will discover the region’s diverse flora and fauna, including dragonflies of all colors, waterfalls, and birdwatching opportunities, such as spotting Francolins

The trip end to coming back to Djibouti city.
