Djibouti-Lac Assal-Foret de Day
The Day Forest National Park is located at an altitude of 1,750 meters, on the slopes of Mount Goda.
Goda Mountain is a prominent peak located in Djibouti, situated in the northern part of the country near the town of Goda. It is one of the notable mountains in Djibouti’s rugged landscape and offers several attractions.
Day 1 : Djibouti – Lac Assal – Foret de day
Djibouti Adventure representatives will pick you up from your hotel in Djibouti City at 8:00 AM. The tour begins at 8:00 AM. During the journey to Lake Assal, you will visit:
- The viewpoint of Canyon Dimbia, part of the Rift Valley
- The panoramic view of Goubet, known as “Devil Island”
- Lake Assal, the lowest point in Africa
- Ardoukoba, the site of the last volcano eruption in Djibouti
After visiting Lac Assal, we will drive to Forêt de Day, where we will spend the night at the campement site.
Day 2 : Foret de Day – Djibouti City
Early in the morning, we will visit the forest which is home to giant acacias, junipers, wild olive trees, jujube trees, but also baboons, green monkeys, an infinite variety of birds and some panthers… An exceptional reservoir of biodiversity. The most notable animal species is certainly the Djibouti Francolin.
The tour ends coming back to Djibouti City.
